Meet Michael Crowe
I'm Michael Crowe, founder of Southwest Mushrooms in Phoenix, Arizona. I've been growing mushrooms since 2006 — that's 18+ years of learning, experimenting, and refining my craft.
Phoenix presents unique challenges for mushroom cultivation — extreme heat and low humidity. Over the years, I've developed techniques specifically adapted to these conditions and supply local restaurants, farmers markets, and health food stores.
Now I'm documenting everything I've learned in The Mushroom Grower — the book I wish existed when I started. Practical techniques and real-world experience from nearly two decades of cultivation.
